Monkey D. Dragon have the highest bounty in One Piece

Dragon is known to be the "World's Worst Criminal," which implies that his bounty is among the highest in the series. Although the exact figure is unknown, there are several events he's been involved in that are likely to have raised his bounty.

1. His Influence Began To Grow After Roger's Execution

Dragon is known to have been present during the execution of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, but at that point, he wasn't a major player in the story. Slowly, his ideals and influence started to spread, and more people supported his cause.

Eventually, Dragon and his Revolutionary Army managed to liberate a lot of nations from the clutches of the World Government, raising concerns about him in those particular seas. His growing influence is sure to have changed his bounty and shot it higher than it was before the execution of the Pirate King. By the time of the current events, Dragon has established himself as the biggest threat the World Government faces.

2. He Was Brought Up On The Reverie Eight Years Ago

The Reverie is one of the biggest events in the One Piece world where political leaders from the nations affiliated with the World Government come together and discuss various problems once every four years. Eight years ago, Monkey D. Dragon was brought up during the Reverie, and although it was stated that he wasn't a major power yet, his influence was certainly growing.

It was revealed that Dragon would become a major threat in the coming six years and challenge even the World Government. This incident is sure to have raised his bounty by quite a lot.

3. He Liberated Centaurea Before The Two-Year Time Skip

Centaurea is an island located in the South Blue that was once likely under the control of the World Government. Two years before the current story events, Dragon and his Revolutionary Army decided to liberate Centaurea and fought a war over it.

While the events weren't shown to the fans at all, Dragon's victory was announced. As expected, this caused a huge uproar and would definitely have increased his bounty even further. With the fall of Centaurea, it was revealed that Dragon had liberated quite a lot of nations at the time.

4. Dragon Was Involved In The Goa Kingdom Incident

Introduced in Luffy's flashback, the Goa Kingdom is located on Dawn Island and inhabited by Nobles. To raise their own social status, they once decided to burn down the Gray Terminal, a massive junkyard, where the unwanted people lived.

While they did succeed in pulling this off, thanks to Monkey D. Dragon, a lot of lives were saved. The survivors jumped on his ship to fight for freedom. Eventually, even Sabo was rescued by Dragon, and he was raised to become his right-hand man. The townpeople likely didn't realize what had transpired in the Gray Terminal but intelligence agencies like the Cipher Pol could certainly have found out about Dragon's involvement, possibly affecting his bounty.

5. He Is Regarded As The Worst Criminal In The Entire World

Dragon's influence over the world has increased dramatically over the Great Pirate Era, and by now, he is known to be fighting for supremacy over the seas, although his goals are very different from those of the Celestial Dragons and the Yonko.

Nonetheless, Dragon has become a criminal even greater than the Yonko, which just goes to show the level of threat he poses to the World Government. The time when Dragon acquired this title is certainly when his bounty shot up once again.

6. Monkey D. Dragon & His Group Clashed With The Blackbeard Pirates

After the events of the Dressrosa arc, Jesus Burgess found himself in Baltigo, the secret base of the Revolutionary Army that nobody had ever found. Tracking him down, the Blackbeard Pirates appeared on the island, forcing a minor clash as Dragon's group evacuated and headed to Momoiro Island.

In this and the subsequent clash between the Blackbeard Pirates and the Cipher Pol, their base was completely destroyed. Nonetheless, fighting with the likes of the Yonko is sure to have affected Dragon's bounty, just as it did for his son, Monkey D. Luffy, after the Whole Cake Island arc.

7. He Declared War On The Celestial Dragons During The Reverie Arc

Perhaps the biggest step that Dragon has taken in the story so far is the declaration of war on the Celestial Dragons. During this year's Reverie, the Revolutionary Army managed to infiltrate the conference and declare war on the World Nobles.

A massive clash is known to have erupted in Mariejoa, which involved four Revolutionary Army commanders including Sabo, and two Admirals, Fujitora and Ryokugyu. Although Dragon himself wasn't involved in the attack, his intent of starting a war is sure to have raised his bounty and made him a bigger threat than one could imagine.
